“I don't really Empathize with Spiderman in this movie.”

I don't really Empathize with Spiderman in this movie. I don't think it's his fault but standing next to Anne, Matt, or Robert, he doesn't have as much depth. He still feels like Spiderman in his highschool times with his softness and freshness, but because of his looks but I think he should have done a bit more research on how hard that time was, even for a 17-year-old boy to convey that natural edge that almost every other characters have.

But anyways Matt ruled. He was great. Anne was great. I thought I can't like John Leguizamo more but this dude proved me wrong. Robert was fucking hilarious, he was great. Even the dog was great. But for someone who didn't know anything about Rome and the funny horse that had babies stuck inside, it's a mess of information that was impossible to catch up. I mean we can look pass it and say the movie cannot convey everything in just one single sitting, the movie is already 3 hours long, OH YEAH IT'S 3 HOURS LONG, goddamnit IMAX did not help, my head hurts after watching with all the flashing, overused sound effects that did not convey any emotions, just annoyance. I understand the story but the man sitting next to me was so confused.

Someone on the internet said the armors and other outfits could have been more historical accurate or more flamboyant, but truthfully it makes a lot of sense that the outfits were downplayed a bit. Imagine, if they have such accuracy, the Asian soldier cannot swim to the sirens to die like that. So we can really look pass that. But I was annoyed that Helios's cows weren't shinning as bright as the Sun with gorgeous heavenly glow that Helios had sex with to reproduce. Also it was funny that even Circe, the woman that LITERALLY PLAY-DOH-ED THEM UP was scared of the cows but these mortal men was like "nah bro I like meat, Helios likes meat also so we're pals".

Rome was great, their armor design was great. That fashion choice alone could cause them enough jealousy and people will for sure want to kill them. Athena was meh. I mean there wasn't much opportunities for Zendaya to shine so we can't really blame her, it's just that she wasn't explained much so for a few minutes I was so confused about who the hell is this girl that Matt is mentally cheating on Anne with. But okay fine Athena in the real tale was more of like a fan of Odysseus anyway. But damn if I can just please see more of the Gods it would have been great. Anything from a mist of Poseidon in the storms, to some kind of signs that Hermes was told to tell Calypso to let go of Odysseus, also the fact that Calypso let go of the man she loved was because of feeling bad for him, not because she was forced to like in the original tale was quite disappointing, Calypso was a selfish woman and the tale really understands that. I don't know, I mean if you had the chance to make a half-giant one eyed and cried "Poseidon" when he went blind, I feel like we deserve some more mythology.

But in short, it was great. A bit too rushed, too compact, but great. Highly recommend reading Greek Mythology first before going, or even just a summary of the tale first. The whole Rome thingy we can be mindful to not care about and don't try to understand too much about what Matt had to say to Anne. If we just understand the home invasion was a fixed timeline for Odyssey to happen, then the movie makes a lot more sense.
